Our mental wellbeing deeply impacts our motivation, energy, and ability to engage in the routines and activities of everyday life. Feeling unwell can lead to withdrawal and avoidance of previously valued activities, which unintentionally creates a negative cycle, depriving you of the joy, social connection, and sense of accomplishment those activities bring.
Together, we will explore how your current activities and routines impact your wellbeing, while working to overcome the barriers that prevent you doing the things you want to do. Our sessions will always be designed to provide opportunities to progress in a way that feels safe and manageable, making incremental improvements that you can sustain and build upon.
This approach is beneficial if you need to:
Re-engage with meaningful activities: Gently introduce new or previously valued activities, building confidence and bringing a greater sense of purpose and enjoyment to your life.
Build supportive routines: Gradually establish balanced daily habits that foster improved mental wellbeing, working out what helps you stay well (and what doesn’t). We can look at improving the quantity and quality of your sleep as part of this.
Develop independent living skills: Learn and gain confidence with practical skills, such as meal planning and preparation, household management, or getting out and about in your community.
Establish active coping techniques: Practice techniques to help you manage symptoms with compassion, regulating distress in the moment so you feel able to continue with your chosen activities.
Navigate work or education: Receive tailored advice and support to enable you to start, stay at, or return to, work or study. Where helpful, I can also provide professional guidance and recommendations directly to your employer or organisation.
